What happens
Chlorine gas or chlorinated water plus ammonia yields toxic chloramines and, at higher chlorine ratios, explosive NCl3.

If contact happens
Never combine. Municipal water sometimes has residual chlorine, avoid ammonia based cleaners on pools.
